Marjorie Taylor Greene's effort to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson from office has officially been rejected in an overwhelming and resounding 359-43 vote. It was a bipartisan effort to save Johnson as the Democrats made good on their promise to save him should the vote happen.

Greene's attempt to kick out Johnson was a long-shot to begin with as both Democrats and Republicans have expressed that they are already tired of the political chaos, having learned from the chaos that happened after Matt Gaetz had Kevin McCarthy kicked out of the speakership.

As Greene stood to force the vote, the MAGA Republican read a long list of "transgressions" she claimed Johnson did as House Speaker. However, the rest of the House immediately let her know how they felt as they booed her. Despite this, Greene still criticized Johnson's leadership as "pathetic, weak and unacceptable."

When she triggered the vote on her motion to vacate the speakership, she was immediately countered by Republican Majority Leader Steve Scalise, who then called for a vote to table it. This led the House to table the motion 359-43, which meant that in the meantime, Johnson is still the House Speaker.

"As I've said from the beginning, and I've made clear here every day, I intend to do my job," said Mike Johnson in a statement after the vote. "And I'll let the chips fall where they may. In my view, that is leadership."

It was noted that even though the vote to save him was overwhelming, it still showed that Johnson still has many weaknesses as Shouse Speaker as his majority was so thin that he had to rely on the Democrats to save him.

Marjorie Taylor Greene Says She Is Backing Off House Speaker Mike Johnson's Ouster

The humiliating defeat at the hands of a bipartisan coalition has Greene already signaling that she is not going to pursue her threat of ousting Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson any further, according to ABC News.

"I will tell you one thing I did say in there: I am so done with words," she told reporters who were waiting for her on the Capitol steps. "For me, it is all about actions. And that is all the American people care about."

The Georgia Republican also noted that she is not imposing a deadline for Johnson to comply with her four "suggestions," adding that "These are not complicated things that we're talking about, and having the majority of Republicans support for bills that are brought to the floor. Yeah, that's very reasonable."

Marjorie Taylor Greene Losing Sway With Donald Trump, Says GOP Strategist

After her attempt to get a new House Speaker went up in flames, Newsweek is reporting that the controversial Republican is losing her "sway" with Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, whom she is an avowed loyalist.

Republican strategist Susan Del Percio said that the former president "simply doesn't seem interested in backing her chaotic play," with Trump openly giving his support to Johnson.

"Greene has also known for weeks that Trump himself has little appetite for this fight. Just a few weeks ago, after Greene first said she would attempt to remove Johnson, the speaker traveled down to Mar-a-Lago for a photo op with Trump. 'I stand with the speaker,' Trump stated, while also noting that Greene was 'a very good friend," she added. "They may still be friends, but she no longer has much sway over Trump-if she ever had any."
