Italian fashion designer Moschino has announced his next undertaking to be a collaboration with Nintendo's most legendary icon.

The "Super Moschino Project" celebrates the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. with a whole new line of clothing that is inspired by the video game series.

According to Moschino in his recent blog post, this will include "printed t-shirts and knitted sweaters, characterized by the graphic of the video games hero, along with a series of colorful bags and accessories in leather, ranging from backpacks to bucket bags, and from wallets to belts -- all personalized with images of Luigi, Princess Peach, coins, stars and mushrooms that appear during Mario's many adventures."

The exclusive designer items will become available by Dec. 5 at any of Moschino's stores or "prestigious multi-brand" shopping locations. They will of course also be available for purchase at Moschino's online store.

Pricing has not yet been disclosed, however considering the highly expensive items that are featured on Moschino's site, you can expect it to not be in the budget for the average consumer. Just for scale, t-shirts on Moschino's site are all in the triple digits, and handbags can reach above $800. The "Super Moschino Project" line is expected to appeal to diehard fans of the Mario series, or for those that just have a taste for retro styled clothing.

Mario, however, isn't the first classic character who has inspired the designer's clothing line. He has also launched ones that feature Barbie, SpongeBob SquarePants, Powerpuff Girls, and Looney Tunes. While none of the pop icons he features in his line are directly related to fashion, being attached to his name helps bring them back into relevancy.
