In the beginning of the year when it was announced that AMC would be premiering a spinoff for "The Walking Dead" titled "Fear the Walking Dead," fans were quickly relieved of their speculation that the two shows would feature a crossover. But now, that may not be such a far-fetched idea.

According to an interview star actress Kim Dickens did with U.K.-based website Digital Spy, the real possibility of a crossover could happen at some point. But it may not be what people expect.

There have been many fan theories about how that could happen, considering that the timelines would be so far off. Those theories ranged from the CDC scientists in Season 1 of "TWD" to former hilltop survivors of the same season.

But the reality is that "Fear" could also speed their timeline up at some point and catch up with the "TWD" action -- on the opposite coast of course.

"I think we were just sort of led to believe early on that there was no crossover -- it was a little bit different time period, a different story, different location, different characters," Dickens told Digital Spy. "But I don't think it's anything that's out of the question. I'm sure the writers would do it in a fantastic way, but I have no idea if they're going to do it. I would be game for it!"

Suffice it to say that even though the two shows are very much different, they both still draw on similar parallels. In "Fear," the character of Travis (Cliff Curtis) seems to be evolving in much the same way as Glenn Rhee did on "TWD."

Travis still believes that there is an inherent good in people and he refuses to abandon that principle just yet. Glenn still holds that character trait, as many fans have seen when he dealt with Nicholas last season and on the current one.

"Fear" will be returning to AMC next summer with 15 all-new episodes, which dwarfs Season 1's six episodes.
