Capcom has revealed the opening cinematic trailer for "Street Fighter 5." The video, embedded below, was first shown at the end of the Capcom Cup grand final event, which took place at PSX 2015 in San Francisco.

Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono also took the opportunity to announce that the 2016 Capcom Pro Tour would start on the third week of March 2016. The tournament's official game would be none other than "Street Fighter 5." The finals will be held in Atlanta, Georgia and will have a prize pool of over $500,000.

This year's iteration of the Capcom Cup used "Ultra Street Fighter 4" to determine the Street Fighter World Champion. The first place finisher was awarded $120,000 while the runner-up walked away with $60,000. Click this link to view the complete list of winners.

The teaser wasn't the only big reveal from the Japanese developer as "Street Fighter" newcomer Fang was also introduced this week. The tricky and deceptive character is the second-in-command of the Shadaloo organization led by M. Bison.

Fang is the last playable character to be included in the game's official launch roster. He introduces a new mechanic to the "Street Fighter" franchise: poison.

According to EventHubs, when Fang's poison attack lands on the opponent, the latter's life bar slowly drains until Fang is hit or if the poison gets depleted. Fang's combat style consists of long-range attacks and slippery movements that frustrate opponents.

Fang's V-Skill is known as Nishodoku. When executed properly, he tosses slow-moving poison projectiles to the opponent. His V-Trigger is Dokunomu. It creates a protective and poisonous cloud around Fang that damages the opponent when they are near him.

"Street Fighter 5" will see the return of the franchise's all too familiar but highly entertaining fighting formula, performed by an assemblage of new and returning faces. The roster is composed of 16 fighters at the game's launch.

The relatively sparse pool has many diehard fans worried. Fortunately, GameRant noted that more fighters will be added to the game as DLC.

Yoshinori Ono also confirmed during PSX 2015 that the first line-up of DLC fighters will include series veterans Alex, Balrog, Guile, Ibuki, Juri and Urien. They can be unlocked by earning sufficient in-game currency or by purchasing the DLC with real money.

Ono previously explained to GameSpot that players would not feel hoodwinked since Capcom doesn't force consumers to purchase the DLC. Extra characters can just be earned in the game.

"You're never going to be forced to purchase an upgrade pack or another disc-based product," he said. "If you purchase the game, you'll be able to upgrade to the content throughout its lifespan and you're never going to be punished if you take a break from playing the game."

"Street Fighter 5" is being developed exclusively for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game will feature cross-platform play and will go on sale in North America and Europe on Feb. 16, 2016.
