Gamers have been speculating on the release date of Mario Kart 8. President Satoru Iwata of Nintendo said that the company takes pride in its capacity to cope up with the changing times. He mentioned that Nintendo started as a playing card company then moved on to toys followed by electronic games to some of the biggest and best gaming consoles ever created. A Nintendo insider divulged that gamers will experience the wonder of Super Mario Kart 8 once it is out on Wii U.

Nintendo announced on April 3, 2014 that Mario Kart 8 for Wii U will be released on Nintendo eShop and in stores on May 30. New course designs that will draw attention to the antigravity feature of the game are introduced in Super Mario Kart 8 for Wii U. Gamers can race up vertical surfaces or upside down with this feature. It also allows players to take pleasure in a myriad of series-popular features consisting of four-player local multiplayer, underwater racing, motorbikes, hang-gliders and the return of the 12-player online competitive play mode.

Fans can get the Limited Edition bundle of Super Mario Kart 8 during its launch on May 30 that consists of a copy of the highly-anticipated Wii U game plus a special collector's item (a Spiny Shell). It can be pre-ordered via the Nintendo Store while supply lasts.

In Mario Kart 8 for Wii U, gamers will see the return of the following characters: Metal Mario, Shy Guy and Lakitu. They will be joined by Koopalings, Bowser's minions, Toad's Turnpike and Piranha Plant.

The standard price for the game will probably be set at $60. You can expect it to be a little more expensive for the limited edition especially with the inclusion of a collector's item.
