A new preview for the hotly anticipated "Captain America: Civil War" has been released.

The featurette was unveiled on Entertainment Weekly. It features a number of major nuggets about the next big Marvel movie. Here are a few takeaways.

1. Black Panther is an uninvolved "third party."

Marvel President Kevin Feige mentions the new superhero enters the conflict without any horse in the race. Then actor Chadwick Boseman talks a bit more about the character not only being mysterious, but a full-on monarch. There was, however, no footage showing the character in the new film.

2. Scarlet Witch primed for big role

The character's role in the film remains somewhat mysterious, as there is no indication of which side she is slated to take in the new movie. Many expect her to fight Tony Stark because he was directly involved in the death of her parents. Yet, the new footage does little to clarify the situation.

Actress Elizabeth Olsen notes that the character will go through an emotional journey in the film that is far greater than the she underwent in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," when she was simply turned from henchman to hero. That said, it should be interesting to see how prominent her story is, with so many characters in the mix.

3. Tony Stark-Captain American conflict at the forefront

Despite mentions of a massive cast, it is safe to say that this film will focus on the main conflict at hand. Not only is there a lot of footage supporting the notion that Iron Man and the Captain will duke it out on a number of occasions, but everyone in the preview notes that this central battle between friends and family will shake the core of what the Avengers stand for.

4. No Spider-Man

Fans have yet to spot the web-slinger in any promotional material for the upcoming film. He might be hidden from view, mirroring Disney's strategy for Mark Hamill in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Luke Skywalker, the character most people are hoping to see and understand, has yet to be featured in any promotional footage for the new "Star Wars" film. Spider-Man is arguably the most iconic hero in the Marvel universe, and his return to the screen as part of the Marvel movies is hugely awaited by fans the world over.

The new movie hits cinemas on May 6, 2016. It stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Paul Bettany, Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Don Cheadle, Jeremy renner, William Hurt, Tom Holland, Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp, among others. The film was directed by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joseph.
