Although Fox News has historically allowed many rude comments about President Barack Obama on their news programs, they seem to have drawn a line in the sand, after two contributors used language that was over the top.

According to Variety, the cable news network has suspended two of their on-air contributors for comments that were not only disparaging, but downright crude and highly offensive. The two on-air personalities made their comments on two different programs of the cable network.

The first of the two was Lt. Col. Ralph Peters, who was on the Stuart Varney-anchored program on Fox Business Network, speaking about Obama's policy and strategy on defeating ISIS and other extremists both domestically and abroad. This followed the president's address in which he outlined how he and the world intend to defeat the extremist group that has emerged in Syria and Iraq as a serious threat.

Peters was quite passionate about his thoughts on Obama, and at one point referred to him as a "total p*ssy." Varney was quite taken with his words, and although he did not immediately admonish Peters for his word choice, he did later in the program demand that Peters either apologize for the statement or take the words back. Peters did indeed apologize for his word choice.

Stacey Dash, another on-air personality who has quite often been featured on Fox News, also had strong rhetoric for Obama. On the Fox News program "Outnumbered," Dash said that Obama didn't "give a sh*t about terrorism."

Bill Shine, Fox senior executive vice president of programming for both networks, prepared a statement on the action taken against the two frequent on-air personalities.

"Earlier today, Fox contributors Lt. Col. Ralph Peters and Stacey Dash made comments on different programs that were completely inappropriate and unacceptable for our air," Shine's statement read. "Fox Business Network and Fox News Channel do not condone the use of such language, and have suspended both Peters and Dash for two weeks."
