Bill Cosby is seeking to have the defamation suit filed against him by former supermodel Janice Dickinson tossed from court.

According to Deadline, Cosby and his former lawyer Marty Singer have both been named as defendants in the proceedings, which stem from Singer branding Dickinson a "liar" when she went public with sexual assault allegations against Cosby.

A recent ruling by LA Court Judge Debra Weintraub, requiring both Cosby and Singer submit to depositions this month in the ongoing suit, has since been placed under a temporary stay. In the event the filing proceeds to trial, Singer has also filed a motion seeking to have Weintraub removed from the case.

"The judicial officer ... before whom the trial of, or a hearing in, this case is pending, or to whom it has been assigned, is prejudiced against the party (or his or her attorney) or the interest of the party (or his or her attorney), so that declarant cannot, or believes that he or she cannot, have a fair and impartial trial or hearing before the judicial officer," documents filed with the court read.

Singer has not publicly provided a reason for his belief the judge cannot be impartial.

In all, more than 50 women have recently emerged to claim they were drugged and sexually assaulted by the now 78-year-old Cosby over a period that spans more than five decades.

Cosby was recently ordered to appear for a deposition in Boston where famed civil rights attorney Gloria Allred interrogated him for more than seven hours on behalf of her client Judy Huth. The former Playboy bunny alleges "The Cosby Show" dad drugged and sexually assaulted here at the mansion more than 50 years ago when she was just 15 years old.

Cosby has denied all the allegations and has never been criminally charged in connection with any of the accusations.
