There has been a feast of laughter on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" lately and the next star to bring her comical talents to the show will be none other than Gemma Teller herself, Katey Sagal.

According to TVLine, Sagal has signed on to make a guest appearance on the show and star as Jake Peralta's (Andy Samberg) mother in an episode early on in the second half of Season 3, likely sometime this January.

Fans know her for two famous roles. The first of which was when she played the wisecracking, hypersexual housewife Peg Bundy on Fox's "Married With Children" that started way back in the '80s and concluded in '90s. With that role, she has already proven that she has the comical acting skills to pull off a fantastic performance on a sit-com.

But as of more recently (besides her role in the short-lived "The Bastard Executioner"), she is perhaps most well-known as Gemma Teller in the mega-hit FX series "Sons of Anarchy." In that series, she pulled off some of the grittiest and most authentic dramatic performances playing the role of Jax Teller's mother and the matriarch of the titular biker gang.

Now that she is making her grand return to comedy, she is going to fill the role of Jake's MIA mother, Karen Peralta, who appears back in his life just as he is about to make some real progress with Amy in their relationship.

It was previously mentioned that Jake's father had left them at an early age, around the time he was 7. But now that Karen is coming back, fans will also get to see Bradley Whitford step into the role of Roger Peralta, Jake's dad.

Karen was left to raise Jake all by herself when his father left and fans can probably guess that when the dad returns, it is likely that the mother is coming back to take a chunk out of his rear end.
