The classic late Saturday night sketch comedy program "MAD TV" that aired on Fox is about to stage a comeback reunion special next year, reuniting old cast members with some of the later additions.

According to Deadline, the sketch comedy show will be returning to broadcast on The CW network for a special reunion episode on Jan. 12, 2016. This is not a reboot of the series, only a special to mark their 20th anniversary.

The show aired on broadcast network Fox from 1995-2009 and brought a host of various talents over the years. Some of the original cast members from the show will be returning and teaming up for the special with cast members that came in the last episodes that aired for the comedy series.

The special show will air as an awards ceremony but will have its familiar comical twists inserted into it.

As of right now, returning cast members for the reunion show include Ike Barinholtz, Alex Borstein, Mo Collins, Crista Flanagan, Anjelah Johnson, Nicole Randall Johnson, Keegan-Michael Key, Phil LaMarr, Artie Lange, Bobby Lee, Michael McDonald, Arden Myrin, Nicole Parker, Eric Price, Will Sasso, Aries Spears, Nicole Sullivan, Stephanie Weir and Debra Wilson.

Although that list includes most of the classic members of the cast, there still may be some additions between now and then.

According to TV Line, the CW network made the announcement and said, "The cast reunites to attend a glamorous award ceremony to honor the series, but in classic 'MAD TV' fashion, nothing goes as planned."

Details of the reunion show are scarce other than that, but fans have to wonder if Michael McDonald will be bringing back his classic sketch character of Stewart on the special, which he always did with actress Mo Collins as his mother.

In addition to "MAD TV" staging its reunion special, there will be 75 episodes added to the CW digital channel, CW Seed.
