Even though they are the most powerful couple in the world, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are firmly grounded in reality and indulge in pop culture just like anyone else. Now, they have revealed their favorite works of 2015 in the literary, visual and musical arts genres.

According to People, POTUS and FLOTUS have a diverse range of interests, but they expressed choices that resonated with many others in the country, who took well to their selections.

Starting off with the first lady, Michelle Obama revealed that she has officially jumped on the Bruno Mars bandwagon and said that she simply cannot get enough of "Uptown Funk." As social media has clearly shown, neither can anyone else in the world.

In the literary world, she also gave out quite a glowing endorsement for the novel "The Light of the World," which was written by Elizabeth Alexander. The book is a memoir about the sudden death of Alexander's husband.

As far as movies, Michelle Obama was "smitten" when she spoke about the animated comedy "Inside Out," which starred the vocal talent of Amy Poehler.

For Barack Obama, the categories were quite different. In music, he chose Kendrick Lamar's "How Much a Dollar Cost."

For books, he went with "Fates and Furies," which was written by novelist Lauren Groff. Similar to his wife's pick, the novel explores a marriage told from the perspectives of both partners.

In the movies, Barack gave actor Matt Damon and director Ridley Scott a special nod, when he cited "The Martian" as his favorite for 2015.

Both also revealed their favorites in television as well. Barack Obama noted that he did indeed have a great time when he did a special episode of "Running Wild" with Bear Grylls. But that was not his top pick for the medium. He decided to go with the Cinemax drama "The Knick."

Michelle Obama, on the other hand, optioned for the ABC sitcom "Black-ish," which her husband said he also enjoys.
