Meanwhile, 2K Games unveiled this week the "XCOM 2" Digital Deluxe Edition and Reinforcement Pack expansion pass.

The Digital Deluxe Edition can be purchased on the game's official website for $75. It includes the "XCOM 2" soundtrack and the Reinforcement Pack, which itself comes with three DLCs. The content and release windows for each expansion are listed below.

"XCOM 2" Reinforcement Pack Content

  • Anarchy's Children: introducing rebellion-themed content with more dramatic soldier modifications. Available in Spring 2016.
  • Alien Hunters: featuring new gameplay focusing on "XCOM" as an elite alien hunting unit tracking down "Ruler" aliens, along with one new mission, more soldier modification options, powerful weapons and armor. Available in Summer 2016.
  • Shen's Last Gift: offering a new soldier class with unique upgradeable weapons, armor, modification options, and an extra narrative-based mission and map. Available in Summer 2016.

The Reinforcement Pack can be bought separately for $20. Considering that the base game will retail for $60, the Digital Deluxe Edition will save gamers $5.

2K Games also announced that those who pre-purchase "XCOM 2" or the Digital Deluxe Edition will receive the Resistance Warrior Pack. This includes new soldier modification options such as outfits, headgear, facial war paint as well as a new recruit character known as Survivor of the Old War.

"XCOM 2" will be released exclusively on PC come Feb. 5, 2016. There's still no word whether or not the game will be made available for current-generation consoles.
