There is about to be a major new faction in town, and the growing cache of cinematic universes are preparing to expand into the popular toy realm. HASBRO and Paramount are teaming up and developing a toy character universe for the new generation of theater audiences.

According to Entertainment Weekly, HASBRO has made some solid ground in the film industry with films like "Transformers" and "G.I. Joe" making bank at the box office. But the headliner for the new Cinematic Universe is going to the "Joes," since the "Transformers" franchise has already inked deals to create and expand on their own franchise with sequels and spinoffs.

So fans who were looking forward to a "Joes" and "Autobots" team up, this news does not give you that. But there are some other characters from the popular toy company that are sure to give you the boost you're looking for

The Joes are reportedly going to be teaming up with the Micronauts, Visionaries, M.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) and ROM.

Although ROM is a character best know from Marvel Comics, Marvel does not own the rights to the character, and there were even some questions that came up when "Guardians of the Galaxy" was produced.

Paramount Pictures CEO Brad Grey released a statement about the upcoming project.

"Paramount and Hasbro have had a longstanding relationship and we're proud of the success we've enjoyed on the 'Transformers' and 'G.I. Joe' franchises," Grey said.

"We're excited to grow our agreement and make even more movies based upon these popular and powerful Hasbro characters and their worlds."

The HASBRO Cinematic Universe is doing something similar to its "Transformers" Universe project. It is embarking on a writers room with the industry's top talents to come up with content that is mutually agreeable to all properties and allows them to blend the characters into combined and solo projects seamlessly.
