Super Smash Bros. 4 Wii U and 3DS Full Character Roster & Stage List: Sheik, Zero Suit Samus, and Charizard Are Back

On Tuesday April 8, 2014 Nintendo conducted its "Nintendo Direct" event regarding the newest title in its Smash Bros. fighting game franchise. Recent updates on the Smash Bros. game by Namco and Sora Ltd have included reports that several items from The Legend of Zelda are included in the game. Luigi's Poltergeist and Pikachu's new Thunder attack were also revealed.

The target release date is summer 2014 for the 3DS and in the winter for the Wii U (possibly during the holiday season). The Wii U is said to have high definition visuals while the Nintendo 3DS will feature black outlines that can be turned on or off, designed to help see the characters. In the Direct, new character Greninja was introduced along with old favorites Charizard, Sheik, and Zero Suit Samus.

The Smash Balls, which were first introduced in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, will make their return, allowing the player who gets them to perform an exceedingly powerful assault on enemies. It has also been announced that a personal character customization is available in the Nintendo 3DS version accord to Masahiro Sakurai, Nintendo's Director. Custom characters can then be ported to the Wii U edition of the game.

The new Super Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3DS is the fourth installment in the series and the game was first publicized during the 2011 Electronic Entertainment Expo.
