The first photo of Natalie Portman in the role of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis has surfaced online.

The 34-year-old actress stars in Pablo Larraín's biopic "Jackie," which focuses on the four days between the assassination of John F. Kennedy and his burial in 1963, according to Vanity Fair.

Portman appears in the exclusively released photo wearing a red 1960s era suit and pearls in the White House.

This film has been in the works for a long time, with the original 2010 project being helmed by director Darren Aronofsky and his then fiancée Rachel Weisz. Aronofsky is now only producing the film, leaving the directing up to Chilean director Larraín. This is Larraín's first English-language film. He is known for his 2012 film "No," which won the Art Cinema Award at Cannes and was nominated for best-foreign-language film at the Oscars.

Additional actors in the film "Jackie," include Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig and John Hurt. Noah Oppenheim wrote the film's screenplay.

Several other actresses, such as Jaclyn Smith, Roma Downey, Jacqueline Bisset, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Ginnifer Goodwin, Minka Kelly and Katie Holmes, have portrayed the stylish First Lady.

"Jackie" is set to premiere in 2017.

Portman has also just finished up work on the action drama western film "Jane Got a Gun," directed by Gavin O'Connor. In the film she plays the role of Jane Hammond, who asks her ex-lover for help in order to save her outlaw husband from a gang out to kill him. Noah Emmerich plays the role of the husband, Bill Hammond, while Joel Edgerton plays the ex-lover. "Jane Got a Gun" is set for release on Jan, 29, 2016.

Portman also just finished up work on the film "The Heyday of the Insensitive Bastards" and an untitled Terrence Malick project. She's also currently working on the films "Planetarium" and "Annihilation," set for release in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
