After a good year for Amazon Prime, with pilot seasons producing a lot of winners, some of those shows have been picked up for Season 2.

According to Variety, the time was ripe for creative content on the streaming platform. A whole host of producers brought their television pilot projects to the platform, which tests the waters for its customers with limited runs.

Suffice it to say that several shows made the attempt this year, given Amazon's unrestrictive policy and no FCC interference for content control. The sky is the limit for content that has been laid out to an audience with no censorship applied. Several of the shows had a TV-MA rating, and viewers were thoroughly astounded with what they saw.

One show of particular note that received a pilot season pick up is the period drama "Good Girls Revolt." The pilot episode featured several women who work at a news organization at the height of the counterculture era in 1969. The show takes place just after the Charles Manson murders and the rise of popular rock and folk music.

Others that were picked up during the pilot season surge were "The Man in the High Castle," "Red Oaks" and "Hand of God." There has already been a Season 2 order for "The Man in the High Castle."

In the drama category, fans can also expect to also see "Patriot" and "Z: The Beginning of Everything."

Amazon also scooped up some comedies for the streaming platform as well.

Comedienne Tig Notaro's dark comedy "One Mississippi" has been picked up. She also stars in the show, and the story is loosely based on her life.

Also given a season order was "Highston," which is about a kid who sees famous people that aren't really there.

In the kids category, the shows "Danger & Eggs," "Niko and the Sword of Light" and "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" have been picked up as well.
