The first trailer to Jonas Cuaron's "Desierto" has been released.

Starring Gael Garcia Bernal the trailer looks action packed with a number of suspense sequences. From the look of the trailer the film tells the story of an immigrant who crosses the border into the U.S. and is suddenly attacked by a hunter who takes patrol duties into his racist hands. Co-starring Jeffery Dean Morgan, the movie premiered at the Toronto Film festival to strong reviews and quickly obtained distribution from STX Entertainment at the festival.

The movie marks the directorial debut for Cuaron, who co-wrote the script for "Gravity" with his father Alfonso Cuaron. Alfonso Cuaron and Carlos Cuaron served as producers for the film, which is a co-production with France and Mexico. Jonas Cuaron and Mateo Garcia co-wrote the film, which was shot in California and Mexico.

Bernal has previously worked with Alfonso Cuaron as he starred in the director's Oscar nominated film "Y Tu Mama Tambien" and later starred in Carlos Cuaron's "Rudi y Cursi." Bernal is one of the most acclaimed actors and has also starred in "El Crimen del padre Amaro," "The Motorcycle Diaries," "No," and "Bad Education." He is a Golden Globe and BAFTA nominee and will next star in Pablo Larrain's "Neruda" and Werner Herzog's "Salt and Fire."
