The International Consumer Electronics Show 2016 (CES) is the biggest opportunity of the year for companies to show off their upcoming technology products. Big companies like LG, Sony and Samsung will be on hand at the event.

CES will be held from Jan. 6 to Jan. 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, with pre-show events also being held Jan. 4 and 5, Tech Radar reports.

LG plans to show off their latest smart TV platform at the event. Attendees will also see the unveiling of webOS 3.0, which will come with new features and content from sources like The Wall Street Journal and Buzzfeed. The Magic Remote will also be improved.

LG also plans to introduce a new smartphone with a screen that wraps over the top of the device. They could wait until the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to introduce the phone, or introduce it at CES.

HTC plans to show off its Vive VR headset at CES. HTC has said that they have made a big "technological breakthrough" with the virtual reality headset, and they plan to demonstrate that breakthrough at CES. The Vive VR headset is expected to be released in April 2016.

Fitbit is planning an early morning press conference on Jan. 5. The company says they have some "exciting news that is sure to ignite the world of health and fitness in 2016." The company might be planning a brand new wearable fitness tracker or an important update to their software.

Carmaker Kia plans to discuss their plans and discoveries with self-driving cars. The company has already been approved to test self-driving technologies on Nevada roads and plans to release their first partially autonomous driving vehicle by 2020. By 2030, Kia wants to have a fully autonomous vehicle on the roads.

Dell has plans to introduce several new products at CES as well. The manufacturer says their new products will balance productivity and mobility. A super-thin and powerful laptop could be coming in 2016.

Samsung will show off several new products, and hopefully, they use the event to introduce the Galaxy S7 smartphone too.

Windows 10 has been released since the last CES, and many new laptops featuring the latest operating system are expected from the 2016 CES.
