Marco Rubio may be the GOP's best bet to the U.S. 2016 Presidential Elections, despite trailing behind leading candidate Donald Trump.

In an article by The New Yorker, it described Rubio as "The Natural," a politician that is young, charismatic, pragmatic and understood from an early age to represent the future of the party. Usually, this type of politician has humble origins and has a tight grasp with emotional intelligence, making him or her have an easy time relating to problems of the common American.

But the problem is, according to Saint Peter's Blog, Rubio's numbers are dipping. And with Trump having a commanding lead in the polls and the election nearing, the Florida senator must start making drastic measures to catch up on the presidential race.

Moreover, Rubio's dip comes at a bad time, because he is seen by not only the Republicans, but the Democrats as well as the best hope for the GOP to win back the White House come November.

According to the latest CNN poll, the senator's number dropped to 10 percent, a full two points since November, which ties him for third with former GOP lead Ben Carson.

And in Contrast, front-runner Donald Trump is at 39 percent, a three point jump, with Ted Cruz coming in at second with 18 percent.

Adding to the candidate's poll woes is that he rarely visits New Hampshire, which was most evident during a recent three-day campaign visit of the Granite State. But in his defense, Rubio went on to say that polls are not an important factor and said that he is more interested in establishing a long-term strategy for his campaign.

Rubio seems to be at his best when engaged in aspirational summoning as he has little instinct to mudslinging his rivals. His greatest rival, Ted Cruz, decided to pander to Trump in an attempt to capture the poll leader's voters.

Both Rubio and Cruz are sons of Cuban immigrants and born within six months of each other. It's interesting to note that the Republican party has two Latinos as its presidential bets, with its leader viewing immigrants in a not-so-favorable manner.

In fact, Business Insider reported that Trump torched an influential congressman for supporting Marco Rubio in the campaign.

The Donald allegedly blasted Representative Trey Gowdy on Sunday, after reports emerged that the congressman is going to endorse the Florida senator.

Trump said, "His hearings were a disaster. Everybody was looking forward to something that was going to be really productive. And he didn't win with those hearings. It was a total not-good for Republicans and for the country."

With 2016 almost here, many expect the presidential race to become even more competitive and controversial.
