After one productive year in the music industry, the numbers are up once again in the U.S. and the U.K. as they list their Top 10 most popular songs of the year. For some, it will be surprising that Adele didn't get the top spot on Billboard's list, but some were pleased with the results having Justin Bieber's "Sorry" as the no. 1 song of the year.

Although Adele's new album, including her record-breaking track "Hello," is a playlist favorite, Bieber's hit song might have gained much more attention compared to the British songstress as hers was just in the second spot.

Bieber's rumored on-again off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez made sure she wasn't too far from the hitmaker as her "Same Old Love" is in the third spot of Billboard's list. Meawnhile, Alessia Cara's "Here" is in the fourth spot while Ellie Goulding's "On My Mind" is on the fifth place.

Clocking in at no. 6 is the famous pop duet of Meghan Trainor and John Legend "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" while The Weeknd's "In The Night" came in at no. 7. Shawn Mendes' "Stitches," Drake's trending music video for "Hotline Bling" and Demi Lovato's "Confident" were in the last three spots.

In the U.K. charts, however, it's a different story as Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk" made it on U.K.'s Official Charts. The publication further revealed that the hit stayed in the Top 40 for 39 weeks and has a combined sales of 1.63 million in a single year, making 2.12 million in total.

At the second spot is OMI's "Cheerleader" while the third is Hozier's "Take Me To Church." Goulding was phenomenal this year as another one of her hits, "Love Me Like You Do," was also included in the U.K.'s charts that made it in the fourth spot.

Fans will probably be singing the hit "Furious 7" soundtrack, "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa, even after the year ends as the song was included in the U.K. charts at the fifth spot while Major Lazer & Dj Snake's "Lean On" came in at sixth place.

Meawnhile, James Bay's "Hold Back the River," Years and Years' "King," Maroon 5's "Sugar" and Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" are in the last four spots. Surprisingly, One Direction's hit "Perfect" is only in 11th place on Billboard and is not included in U.K's Official Charts.
