Mark Salling, best known for his starring role on the Fox TV show "Glee," was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly being in possession of child pornography.

According to Crime Watch Daily, the actor and former star of the hit teen show was at his home in Sunland, California when officials from the Los Angeles Police Department raided his residence in search of child porn.

The warrant they served on the actor was obtained by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Unit of the LAPD.

As reported by Variety, Salling was served with the warrant before police searched his home. He was later arrested and taken to the LAPD's downtown location for booking. Although the arresting charges have not officially been disclosed, the warrant served as the key information that led to his arrest.

There has been no information available yet as to the specific charges against the actor, but there is more than enough reason to believe that it is for possession of child pornography.

If that is the case, then this would not be Salling's first run-in with the law over an incident of a sexual nature. He was previously sued by his ex-girlfriend, who claimed that he had physically assaulted her then forced her to have sex with him without a condom. Salling later countersued her in the case.

Salling portrayed the character of Noah "Puck" Puckerman on "Glee." He appeared in over 100 episodes of the hit teen musical show on the Fox Broadcasting Network. He started appearing on the show in 2009.

His previous works included "Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering" with Naomi Watts and "The Graveyard." His current work in progress was a low budget film called "Adi Sankar's Gods and Monsters." He was working on the film alongside actress Denise Richards.

Salling as born in Dallas, Texas. He was previously repped by ICM and Full Circle Management, but they had previously cut all ties with the actor.
