As if the hype for DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" couldn't get any bigger, the CW has officially released an exciting new trailer backed up by a rock and roll soundtrack that will have fans chomping at the bit for the January premiere.

According to Deadline, the trailer does indeed seem to have a lot of '70s throwback-era clothes, although the setting and action are no weak efforts. The teases that were featured showed no sign of cheap production value or shoddy effects either.

As with most comic book adaptations on TV and film, the special effects seemed to flow seamlessly and mirrored the story that is set to expand on Jan. 21, 2016.

The show, for those who have been living under a rock for the past several months, is a spinoff of two other powerhouse shows on the CW, which are "The Flash" and "Arrow." Those two have ushered in an new era of fandom that has transcended their comic book roots and gained quite a cult following with fans of the new age.

Modern audiences have picked up on the shows just like young kids in the '60s and '70s picked up on the comic books. The fantasy worlds have collided on both TV and film and the fandom has reached epic new heights.

The series draws off the premise that Rip Hunter has traveled through time to an era that seems to point at Ground Zero for events to come. His mission is stop Vandal Savage from euthanizing the world and bending its will to his wishes.

As a tyrannical ruler, Savage is dead set on taking what is his, or what he believes is his -- the Earth.

The trailer featured Caity Lotz as White Canary, Brandon Routh as Atom, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Ciara Renée as Hawkgirl, Falk Hentschel as Hawkman as well as Franz Drameh, and Victor Garber as both halves of Firestorm.
