Another Mikaelson from the past will pay a visit to New Orleans, while Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will go on a bloodthirsty hunt for retribution following Cami's (Leah Pipes) shocking death when "The Originals" returns next month.

As if there weren't enough Mikaelsons stirring up mischief in modern day New Orleans, TVLine reports that another member from the Original family's past will show up. In addition, the Mikaelson brothers will have to be on the lookout for Cortez, a "callous, smart and manipulative" vampire with "little regard for human life."

Meanwhile, a new extended promo, titled "A Ghost Along the Mississippi," shows an angry and violent Klaus vowing to seek vengeance following the loss of his love Cami. As fans may recall, Cami was tragically stabbed to death by Aurora (Rebecca Breeds), after she and Klaus shared a passionate kiss and intimate night together in the midseason finale.

"Our retribution must be swift and it must be brutal," Klaus yells in the new promo.

Other clips show Aurora amicably approaching Klaus, and Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) using his powers to flip over a moving SUV.

The winter finale also marked the return of Claire Holt as Rebekah to New Orleans. However, she was nearly driven insane by a mark on her wrist that caused her to try to kill the people that she loved, reports E! News. As a result, she asked her brother Elijah (Daniel Gillies) to dagger her yet again.

When asked if Elijah daggering Rebekah will really stop the family portion of the prophecy, executive producer Michael Narducci told Entertainment Weekly that "that's definitely their intention," but it does not guarantee that this will stop the prophecy from being fulfilled.

Season 3 of "The Originals" will return on Friday, Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
