This past weekend legendary actor Harrison Ford participated in an "ask me anything" on Reddit where he responded to several questions from about his previous works and how he felt about them.

One question in particular that was asked has had thousands of Star Wars fanboys debating about for many years now, which was: Who shot first, Han Solo or Greedo?

The question is in regards to the one of Ford's introductory scenes in Star Wars IV: A New Hope, where his is playing Han Solo, one of his more iconic roles during long and fruitful career.

In the scene, Solo is stopped by one of Jabba the Hutt's henchmen named Greedo on his way out of the Tatooine cantina to meet with Chewbacca, Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi at a hanger housing the famed Millennium Falcon.

Greedo tells Solo that Hut is looking for him because Solo owes him money. The confrontation gets a little heated and in the original scene, before George Lucas began remastering digital effects and adding or extending scenes, Solo shoots Greedo underneath the table.

In the post-20th century anniversary edition, however, the film shows Greedo shooting first but missing his target and then is shot by Solo.

According to the Washington Post, the problem many fans had with the change is that although it allows the explanation that Han was just protecting himself but on the other hand it takes away some of his credibility of being a the roguish anti-hero Star Wars fans came to admire.

Lucas has weighed in on the question in the past and argued that the scene was extended because it was part of his original idea that Solo isn't a "cold-blooded killer," he told the Hollywood reported.

"I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first," Lucas said.

Lucas's remarks, however, doesn't exactly line up with what the original script read.

"Suddenly the slimy alien disappears in a blinding flash of light. Han pulls his smoking gun from beneath the table as the other patrons look on in bemused amazement. Han gets up and starts out of the cantina, flipping the bartender some coins as he leaves."

And, as far as Ford is concerned, it doesn't matter to him who shot first.

"I don't know and I don't care," Ford responded to the question.
