After spending some time in a beta run, the game Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn finally saw its official release on April 14. The first phase of the beta test ran from Feb. 22 to March 3 and the second phase ran from April 4 to April 7. Just barely a week after the second beta test, all PS4 users will now be able to download the newest version of Final Fantasy. Those who played during the first phase of the beta test will no longer be able to use their characters, as they will be wiped out. However, for those who played during the second phase, the characters can be carried over to the retail version of the game.

For those who wish to pre-order the game, there are two choices available. These include the standard edition and a collector's edition. The latter includes unique content coming from the older version of the game. It also includes a Chocobo mount and Moogle minion. These items are also available for free to those who previously bought the collector's edition. Other freebies include an art book, a soundtrack CD and cards.

For those who own PS3 consoles and would want to transfer the game to PS4, it is possible to do it for free. However, the process is only one-way. The moment everything has been transferred, there will be no more turning back. For those who wish to play the game on both consoles, the items must be bought separately.

For the new version of the game, gameplay streaming and screenshot sharing have become a lot easier and faster. Touchpad support is also available along with mouse and keyboard support for PC users. Some other additions to the game include treasure hunts, new dungeons, higher levels with greater difficulty and new raids.
