British boxing superstars Amir Khan and Kell Brook could finally face each other on June 4 at Wembley Stadium.

Promoter Eddie Hearn told BoxingScene that they have already reached out to Khan and his camp about a possible showdown later this year. There is no ongoing negotiations at this point, but Hearn said that they are ready to start discussions later this month.

"I've sent them all the figures for a Wembley fight for them to review and we've agreed that in the early part of January we'll start to open discussions and negotiations if you like," Hearn said.

If the two camps will reach a deal, the fight will take place on June 4 at Wembley Stadium. Hearn revealed that he already made reservations but he admitted that it does not mean the Khan-Brook fight will happen.

"Wembley is impossible to get and June 4 is the date that we can get so all I done there is reserve that with a view to hold Brook-Khan there, not because I think it's going to happen," Hearn added. "If it's going to happen that would be the date that would be available for Wembley."

Khan, a former world champion, is continuously being linked to a showdown with Brook, who is the reigning International Boxing Federation champion. However, Khan was not too interested in the fight before, as he is focused on landing big bouts against Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Mayweather has already retired without giving Khan a chance, while Pacquiao recently picked Timothy Bradley as his next opponent for his April 9 fight at MGM Grand. With Khan left with no other big options, Hearn thinks that it is the perfect time to arrange the all-British bout.

"Common sense surely must tell you that this is the fight and this is the fight to make now," Hearn said. "I feel like it's quite easy to make, other than talking about the splits which is always going to be interesting. There's that much money in the pot you can't ignore it and it's for a world title."

Khan, who owns a 31-3 record with 19 knockout victories, has not fought since scoring a unanimous decision win against Chris Algieri during the World Boxing Council Silver welterweight title showdown in May in Brooklyn.
