After a long time has passed since Brawl, Super Smash Bros. is finally back in a new installment that will be made available for both Nintendo 3DS and Wii U consoles. A few weeks ago, Nintendo released a video presentation that depicts what the new game will look like. According to the video, the two versions of the game will more or less have the same characters. The console versions mainly differ in the stages available for battle. As for its release, Nintendo said that the 3DS version would arrive first in summer 2014 while the Wii U version will come out in winter 2014.

The different dates of release have confused a lot of gamers. However, Nintendo provided no explanation as to why they decided to do it that way. Many people speculate that since the 3DS is arriving first and it is the more popular console in the first place, it could possibly affect the sales of Wii U if not staggered in this way. Nintendo is looking to make a strong comeback in the gaming industry after reports of a decline in the company's sales in previous quarters.

From among the previous characters, some of them are geting an upgrade for the new installment. Charizard and Sheik, for example, will now be independent characters. Previously, Charizard was just an evolutionary form of a different character and Sheik could only appear when Zelda appeared as a different form of herself or in a different battlefield stage.

The new characters will also include a Wii fit trainer. Rosalina and Luma will also join the group; these characters were taken from Super Mario 3D World. There will also be Mega Man, Greninja, and Little Mac. The surprising new characters and exciting changes to previous ones should make gamers excited for the game.
