Samsung wants to make it easier for users who have multiple devices attached to their TV to control them. On Monday, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the company introduced a Smart TV remote that will control all devices in a user's entertainment center.

The new remote from Samsung will help users control their TV, set-top boxes, streaming media players, Blu-Ray players and gaming consoles, CNet reports.

The smart control remote will eliminate the need for a remote for each device, such as one for the Blu-Ray player, one for the set-top box and one for a Roku player.

Samsung also wants to make it easier to interact with its Smart TV interface, which allows users to gain additional content like Netflix, Hulu, apps, games and music. Samsung wants the Smart TV experience for consumers to be much easier.

Samsung is going head-to-head with LG who is also introducing new Smart TVs, updated with the latest version of WebOS. The new version of the software is also designed to make things easier for Smart TV users.

Samsung is using its own operating system Tizen for its new remote and Smart TV interface. Samsung hopes that Tizen will help make it the Smart TV experience simpler for users.

The new remote from Samsung is able to automatically recognize each device that is connected to the TV, the company says. Samsung says it will be easy for users to switch from live TV programs to online content and to their Blu-Ray and game consoles.

Samsung says users will be able to easily search for programs throughout all of their devices and then add them to the TV's home screen for easy access.

Samsung says they wanted it to be easier and less cluttered for users to enjoy TV. The company said that only one Samsung Smart TV is needed for a simplified TV viewing experience.

Samsung will detail more on the Smart TV and new remote control at its press conference Tuesday at CES in Las Vegas.
