The company behind the making of smart soles for shoes, Zhor Tech Digitsole, has now designed the "world's first smartshoe" which will be launched in October 2016 at $450.

The smartshoes, which have been named Smartshoe 001, are now considered to be one of the most unusual wearable technologies available in the market today.

As shared by Digitsole CEO Karim Oumnia at the CES Unveiled event, when they invented the shoes, their goal is actually not to make a gadget. They only want to provide comfort to their customers as they shared, "We didn't want to make a gadget. We wanted something really useful."

A unique feature of these smartshoes is the ability to be connected through an Android or iOS app via Bluetooth. Once synced, the user will be able to track and measure certain activities. Users can track the steps made and calories burned while wearing the gadget. The app will also enable the user to measure their shoes' shock absorption. Aside from that, the shoes also have heating features which can literally help users keep their feet warm even during the coldest of weathers. By using the app, users can adjust both right and the left shoe temperatures.

But given all these features, as stated by the website, Pocket-Lint, the coolest feature this smartshoe has is its ability to auto-tighten. The shoes have no laces but the user can already have a snug fit with only just one push of a button.

Aside from sneakers, Zhor Tech also created many different version of their masterpiece, one of which is a pair of pumps perfect for sophisticated but techy girls. These pumps also have heating features and tracking activity; however, it does not have the auto-tighten feature though.

The company also designed more casual pair of trainers that can provide comfort perfect for any everyday outfit. The casual sneakers and pumps even come in different colors.

As for its design, many still find it not attractive or even not worthy of its price. As posted by Geek Wire, "With a design that could be described as Michael Jordan meets Marty McFly, we aren't expecting this shoe to win any fashion awards." But despite that, people are still expecting so much from this gadget. After all, it's just the smartshoes' first gen tech and the looks will probably improve over time.

Digitsole is based in France and Smartshoe 001 is an evolution of the company's "Warm Series heated insoles." Pairs of these shoes are available in the market for only $199 which only offers calorie tracking and step counting features.
