Facebook founder and creator Mark Zuckerberg has a rather interesting New Year's Resolution: to build his own version of Iron Man's AI butler, J.A.R.V.I.S.

If you think Tesla's Elon Musk is the real life Tony Stark, Mark Zuckerberg is here to make a strong case to make you think otherwise. In a report by The Guardian, the young billionaire expressed his desire in a post that he wants to spend 2016 building an artificially intelligent assistant to help run his life at home and work, which he directly compared to J.A.R.V.I.S.

Every year, I take on a personal challenge to learn new things and grow outside my work at Facebook. My challenges in...

And when he makes a resolution, Zuckerberg works hard on it. Case in point, way back in 2010, he promised that he will learn Mandarin and he delivered. Just last October, he showcased his newly learned language and delivered a 20-minute speech at Beijing's Tsinghua University -- entirely in Mandarin.

According to him, his approach for the AI will start by "exploring what technology is already out there." Existing home-automation tools from companies such as Google's Nest, Philips and Samsung all allow a fairly high level of control of a "smart home," and what's great about it is that it can be paired with a voice control software, including Apple's Siri and Amazon and Massachusetts-based specialists Nuance.

CNET reported that Zuckerberg has already a product in mind that he plans to utilize -- the Amazon Echo, an Internet-connected wireless speaker wrapped around a digital personal assistant named Alexa, which will allow him to control music while both of his hands are occupied with his daughter.

The social media innovator will then move on to more complicated tasks such as letting friends in at his home by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell.

He wrote, "I'll teach it to let me know if anything is going on in Max's room that I need to check on when I'm not with her. On the work side, it'll help me visualize data in VR to help me build better services and lead my organizations more effectively."

According to Today, the post already generated over 15,000 shares and 320,000 likes. Moreover, Zuckerberg even engaged in conversation with some of the commenters.

However, not everyone is keen on utilizing Artificial Intelligence. Elon Musk expressed his fears and said that AI could pose a bigger threat to humanity compared to nuclear weapons.

He is not alone on those sentiments as Microsoft founder Bill Gates and even famed physicist Stephen Hawking voiced their concerns about AI.

But still, it's remains to be seen whether Mark Zuckerberg can deliver on his resolution by the end of 2016.
