There has been much speculation as to why Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have not returned to the "Fuller House" reboot on Netflix. But producer and co-star John Stamos has weighed in and spoken as to why they really did not come back, at least according to him.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Stamos told Howard Stern on his radio show the real reason the twins did not come back to the show is because they did not consider themselves actresses.

"They seemed very into ['Fuller House']. They just were afraid of acting," Stamos told Stern. "They hadn't acted. They don't consider themselves actresses."

Although the twins did share the role as babies, they did not have to do too much acting at the time because the role actually called for them to just be themselves.

But they did go on to the big and small screen in a handful of roles when they got older and it helped them to launch a lucrative career in fashion and business.

Stamos and the producers of the show even tried to get their big sister, Elizabeth Olsen, to take on the role. But of course that got denied as well.

According to Variety, the show is going to explain the absence of Michelle Tanner to their audience by mirroring what the actresses are doing in real life. Tanner is in New York and working hard on her fashion empire. This is of course exactly what the Olsen twins are doing in real life. They are hard at work in the fashion business and it has grown to gigantic sizes over the past several years.

Even though they will not be returning, pretty much all of the other actors from the original show have verified that they will be on the show in one way or another. Stamos, Bob Saget and Dave Coulier have been confirmed for guest roles.
