The primary season is about to enter its final stages, and now that the elections are coming up, "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" had no trouble booking Republican Presidential front-runner Donald Trump on the show.

According to Deadline, Trump will be coming back to the show next Monday, Jan. 11. This will be his second appearance on the show since his presidential bid. His first was last year on Sept. 11. That was also his first appearance on any late night talk show after he entered the race for the White House.

Trump has a unique history with NBC, who owns and operates "The Tonight Show." His show, "The Apprentice," was a major ratings haul for the network prior to his run for the presidency. There was also a major falling out between him and the network following his controversial opening comments on immigrants being "rapists and murderers."

NBC's company sibling Univision also dropped his "Miss Universe" and "Miss USA" pageants last year, which led him to threaten and pursue legal actions against them. He later dropped that case and moved on. Coincidentally, he dropped the lawsuit the same day he appeared on "The Tonight Show."

Although Trump and the network had the major falling out, they did indeed cash in on his star power. When he appeared on "The Tonight Show" and also on "Saturday Night Live," the ratings for those shows saw a big increase.

He has also been a major ratings haul for other shows as well, jumping up competing late night hosts Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert's numbers following his appearances on their shows.

Lately, as with many times in the past, Trump has made controversial statements to the press as well as on social media that have made him a lightning rod for fierce backlash and constant headlines. His most recent headlines have been with ISIS linked videos using his words as recruitment tools.
