Now that "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" is back from its holiday hiatus, there is good reason to tune in for even more laughs in the second half of Season 3, including the aftermath of Charlie's (Joe Lo Truglio) sperm getting taken hostage.

The series continues its typical style of situational humor in the next episode, titled "9 Days," according to TV Guide. Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) and Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) are in for the ride of their lives when they have to work a case while under quarantine.

According to Spoilers Guide, Jake and Holt have to work a case together, but during the course of their investigation, they contract the mumps. Standard protocol requires that they must be quarantined. Holt and Jake both want to stay on the case, so instead of getting locked up separately, they opt to be quarantined together.

Life inside the quarantine bubble proves hectic for the two though. It is nearly impossible for them to investigate the case when they have no way to get out and pound the pavement. They cannot interview witnesses. They cannot do their own research, except off the Internet.

So what can they possibly do when they reach a brick wall in their investigation? Well, knowing the history of the two characters, they find creative ways to entertain themselves, even though they have always gotten on each other's nerves.

Elsewhere in the episode, Charles has lost his sperm, and now it is up to Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) to help him in his grieving process. From that description alone, fans can likely already tell the comedy in these scenes shines brightest.

Terry (Terry Crews) also gets into a bind, when he is forced to clean up the mess left by Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker) and Scully (Joel McKinnon Miller). This may prove to be a more difficult task than he originally thought possible.

Episode 12 will air on broadcast network Fox on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
