Billy Bob Thornton is about to bring back his dark holiday humor in a follow-up to his hit film "Bad Santa." But the female lead set to play opposite Thornton also brings her own brand of crazy to the sequel film.

According to Deadline, "Mad Men" and "Dark Places" actress Christina Hendricks has been tapped to play a lead role in the film. There is enough reason to believe that the sassy actress will be the ultimate comical partner to his bad boy ways.

Hendricks will play a woman who is a similar kind of low life scumbag that Thornton was in the original.

Thornton and his small co-conspirator played the roles of Santa and his elf at malls across the nation, before robbing them blind on Christmas Eve every year when the shopping centers closed for the season. A major joke from that film saw the two burglars promise to make each score their last, only to run out of money the following year and have to do it all over again.

In the sequel, Hendricks will portray a disreputable character who runs a charitable organization. It is unclear at this time if she turns out to be in cahoots with Thornton, or if she is simply trying to make the world a better place and becomes the unsuspecting victim of his schemes.

To make Thornton's life even more challenging, another major female player is being brought onto the cast. "American Horror Story" actress Kathy Bates will be squaring off with the villainous, clunky Santa. Fans can expect there to be some fantastic onscreen dynamics between Bates and Thornton that will undoubtedly lead to loads of comedy.

Hendricks, Bates and Thornton are all award-winning actors, who have all had a strong presence on the awards circuit in both TV and film.

The film is expected to be released later this year on Nov. 23.
