The Big Egg Hunt NYC presented by Fabergé at Rockefeller Center is hosting a display of unique egg sculptures as the finale of a city-wide egg hunt by the world's leading artists, photographers, architects, creatives and designers, including Diane von Furstenberg, Carolina Herrera and Tommy Hilfiger, among others.

So put on your Easter best and if you're in New York, take an egg-citing stroll!

Venezuelan-American fashion designer Herrera is most known for dressing stylish yet classic First Ladies from Jacqueline Onassis to Michelle Obama. Von Furstenberg, the Belgian-born American fashion designer was recently in the news -- and not for her egg design -- but because the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton was just spotted wearing her iconic wrap dress, which is perfect for Easter Sunday.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see over 260 one-of-a-kind egg sculptures, which were also designed by Jeff Koons, Zaha Hadid, Tracey Emin, Peter Beard, RETNA, Julian Schnabel, and Leo Villareal, among many others.

"The showcase was an end to a massive city-wide egg hunt that started on April 1 via an app that used Apple's iBeacon technology," according to AdAge. "Created by Saatchi & Saatchi, New York, along with the help of Resolute D and Nomi, the free app allowed participants to track 'hidden' eggs throughout the five boroughs with an interactive map and a real-time clue-containing feed.

"The eggs were stunning sculptures standing close to 2.5 feet high. All 267 of have been displayed in plain sight throughout the city since the hunt's launch, but many blended in with the unique environments in which they were placed. Since the hunt's launch, according to the agency, the app has been downloaded 27,000 times and it generated 22,000 registered users, who 'collected' 370,000 eggs."

The world's leading artists, photographers, architects, designers and other creatives won't be keeping their egg sculptures, but they will be auctioned off at Sotheby's on April 22 and online via Paddle8 to benefit Elephant Family and School in Studio, a community-based organization that aims to bring visual arts into the classroom, AdAge adds.

So far, American artist,Jeff Koons' egg sculpture is reportedly taking the lead with a massive bid of $350,000.

The art exhibition will be on display at Rockefeller Center from April 18 to 25, and is open to the public and free of charge.
