Mercedes-Benz never ceases to amaze the auto industry as it unveiled the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The E-Class was first teased during last week's CES, and now, it finally unleashed the details surrounding everything that is needed to be known for its beloved mid-size luxury sedan at the Detroit Auto Show.

For starters, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class that will arrive in the U.S. market is equipped with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Although its styling can be best described as "classy" and "elegant," don't mistake its beauty for tameness as the car can give 241 horsepower and about 273 pound-foot of torque.

But there are reports suggesting that a variant with a higher-end engine will also be released.

According to AutoBlog, the E-Class is loaded with high-tech features that Mercedes-Benz prompted to call this car "the most intelligent luxury sedan," but this time, it's not all fluff because it's got the hardware to back that claim up.

As noted by The Verge, it has a remote control assisted parking via a smartphone app, an NFC-based unlock and vehicle start also via the use of smartphone, 84-LED adaptive headlights, "Vehicle-to-Vehicle" and "Vehicle-to-Infrastructure" communication that allows it to send and receive data from cars, buildings and even street lamps nearby.

It does not stop there. It also has an evasive maneuver assistance that help identify hurdles such as pedestrians, thereby helping you avoid fatal accidents. Moreover, the 2017 E-Class also has an adaptive cruise control that sets the speed of the car based on the road signs ahead.

For example, if you engaged the feature on the freeway and the car detects that it only allows the speed of 40 miles per hour, the car will adjust it speed.

Of course, a luxury car like this only includes luxury safety features. It has an adaptive steering that can follow a car in front of you, even in the absence of lane markings, active emergency braking useful for cross-traffic and rear-seat seat belt plus airbags.

The only downside for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class is that purist may get frustrated as it's only available in a nine-speed automatic transmission, Auto Spies has learned.

However, it does not come as a surprise as the German luxury car maker has been nixing the stick shift for years. But what it lacks in spirited driving, it makes up for with high-tech features.

Besides, with a car this classy, who really wants to drive like a speed maniac?

The 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class starts at $53,574 and will launch in the U.S. in mid-2016.
