"Orange Is the New Black" is officially back! Fans will get to see the inmates at Litchfield on the show's fourth season coming June 17 at 12:01 a.m. PT.

The "Orange Is the New Black" Season 4 summer release from Netflix has long been expected by fans since the streaming company has traditionally released previous seasons' pilot episodes during the summer, according to Mashable.

So what can fans expect to see during the highly anticipated season?

According to Variety, "Orange Is the New Black" Season 4, produced by Lionsgate Television, will see different issues such as diversity, race, prison overcrowding and politics at the forefront.

During the Television Critics Association's (TCA) press tour in Pasadena, Calif. Sunday, creator Jenji Kohan revealed to reporters what to expect in the new season sans real spoilers.

"The theme thing was hard this year. We start with political agendas, the corporatization of the prison, the stratification of people into their little mosaic groups," Kohan said.

"We want it to be a surprise, but [you can expect] all the fun stuff like race and hate and some things from current events that we wanted to filter through our lens," she added.

While Kohan didn't reveal any names with regard to which characters will be getting back stories, she did say that additional backstories from old characters will be shown, as well as back stories of new characters.

As for Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), Kohan hinted that the character could become less "likable" in upcoming episodes, especially with her black market underwear business venture with girlfriend Alex Vause (Laura Prepon).

"I think Piper's definitely on a journey," said Kohan. "We work through the vicissitudes of likability."

When it comes to the issue of overcrowding inside the facility, Blair Brown, who plays celebrity chef Judy King, told reporter s that "because it ends with the overcrowding, you do push all the different groups together."

"We see the animosity that's expected or unexpected. That's ahead of the curve of things that are happening now," she added. "Alliances that happen are unexpected."

Meanwhile, it isn't only Brown who expressed her excitement during the TCA press tour.

Samira Wiley (Poussey) and Dascha Polanco (Dayanara Diaz) were also ecstatic.

Wiley said fans can expect something totally "different" from previous seasons, while Polanco revealed that "Orange Is the New Black" Season 4 is taking the show and its cast "to the next level."

According to The Wrap, on Sunday, the hit Netflix series also released a 46-second first-person promo video.
