Flagship smartphones are known for their powerful processors and sleek designs. Yet, they often go on sale for exorbitant prices. Take, for instance, the Samsung Galaxy S5. On contract you can get it for as low as $199. But if you want to go month-to-month, the unsubsidized version with cost you a whooping $599 and up. The HTC One M8 and iPhone 5s sport similar sky high unsubsidized prices. That's where Google's Nexus comes in.

Since debuting in January 2010 the Nexus line of smartphones have been known for their terrific price-to-performance ratio. The current Google Nexus 5 smartphone sports a zippy quad-core processor and the latest Android OS (4.4 KitKat), but only costs $349 for the 16GB version. Yet, the phone is unlocked meaning you can upgrade to another device anytime you want. The Nexus 5 has been out for 5 months now and a successor has only been hinted at. Here's what the rumor mill is saying about the supposed Google Nexus 6.

nexus6o.com thinks it's going to have a world class screen with 2K resolution (greater than Full HD.) With that type of screen expect to be able to play the latest games and watch the hottest movies like never before. You'll literally have a theater in your pocket. But the increased resolution isn't the only update pertaining to the screen or display. In fact, the Nexus 6 may be one of the first phones to have a curved display. The LG G Flex is the only other phone will such a display that's currently on the market today. LG also produces the Nexus 5 smartphone for Google and they are likely to work together to deliver the next generation Nexus device as well. Lastly, the Nexus 6 screen size is rumored to be 5 inches.

Another rumor site Trusted Reviews believes that Google will release not one, but two smartphones bearing the Nexus Moniker later this year. The phone previously talked about will occupy the flagship spot and the second phone will be a lower cost, mid-range device. Both devices will run on Android 4.5 Lollypop according to Trusted Reviews sources.
