International pop icon Cher has seen quite a bit during her nearly half a decade career in the spotlight, and of course, has had her fair share of lovers. Just how good were they? Well, in a recent interview she gave the scoop on her storied romantic life.

She recently granted an interview to Andy Cohen of "Watch What Happens Live" fame, and their discussion immediately raised eyebrows across the internet. As for who was the best lover she ever had, Cher was rather diplomatic with her answer.

"Well a lot of them (lovers) kind of came in first. I had just the greatest lovers ever," before going on to clarify: "Not a long list. It's just a good list."

"Not a long list" may be a relative phrase, but it has certainly been an impressive one. After realizing that she was hesitant to give the scoop, Cohen asked the "Believe" crooner about her brief love affair with a young Tom Cruise back in 1985. She did not flinch at the question, saying that Cruise was in her top five.

"He wasn't a Scientologist then. It was pretty hot and heavy for a little minute. He's a great guy. The person that I knew was a great and lovable guy," Cher recalled. "He was shy. He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. It could have been a great big romance, because I was crazy for him."

Alas, a permanent Cruise and Cher connection never came about, as he continued on with what would turn into a storied acting career, while she carried on singing, racking up several more chart-topping hits.

In many ways, Cher's career was carried by her love life. Her romance and subsequent musical act with ex-husband Sony Bono launched both of them to stardom. After the two had split, Cher spent plenty of time cavorting with some of Hollywood's biggest and most influential names.

"Indeed Cher does have some rather impressive names on her 'list', having been linked to the likes of Val Kilmer, Gene Simmons, Warren Beatty, Eric Clapton, Michael Bolton and Tommy Lee during her illustrious music career. She also said previously on Letterman during a November 2010 interview that she came close to sleeping with Elvis Presley and Marlon Brando, but regrets turning them down," notes the Daily News.
