Dexter Fowler is the next best available outfielder on the free agent market as Yoenis Cespedes already signed a three-year deal to return to the New York Mets while Yovani Gallardo is one of the remaining starters without a team, per ESPN . Let's take a look at the latest rumors on the market for both Fowler and Gallardo.

Five Teams Fit for Dexter Fowler

MLB.com named the Los Angeles Angels, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers and Chicago White Sox as the best fit for the 29-year-old outfielder. The Angels are in need of a leadoff hitter, a corner outfielder and left-handed hitter that are all attributes of Fowler.

The Cardinals are still looking for a replacement for Jason Heyward while the Cubs can always re-sign Fowler to play centerfield and trade Jorge Soler for a starting pitcher. As for the Rangers and White Sox, both teams are looking for additional outfield help.

The Angels and White Sox were rumored to be interested in all big-name free agents like Cespedes, Justin Upton and Alex Gordon before they all got signed. However, the Angels are not looking to splash big money so it makes the White Sox the front runners to sign Fowler.

The Cardinals and Rangers all have the budget, but they have been quiet the entire postseason and possibly are not looking to make any noise in the coming days. Lastly, the Cubs are all set for a World Series and additional players are always welcome.

Fowler hit a modest .250 with 17 home runs and 46 RBIs in his first season with the Cubs after playing six years in Colorado and one season in Houston, per Baseball Reference.

Four Teams Interested in Yovani Gallardo

The Houston Astros, Baltimore Orioles and Colorado Rockies are all interested in signing the 29-year-old right-hander but are wary of losing a draft pick because he rejected the Rangers' qualifying offer, per FOX Sports. Houston is looking to beef up its rotation following a surprising and successful season while Baltimore lost top-of-the-rotation arm Wei-Yin Chen to free agency.

Colorado is always looking for a starter and views Gallardo as a future mentor for its young pitching prospects. However, Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish notes that the Rockies are aggressive in its approach towards Gallardo.

Ben Nicholson-Smith of SportsNet also reported last week that the Toronto Blue Jays were interested with Gallardo the entire offseason and were in contact with the player's camp. Blue Jays president and team CEO Mark Shapiro praised the pitcher in a recent interview.

Gallardo posted a 13-11 record with a 3.42 ERA in his first season with the Rangers after playing the eight years in Milwaukee, per Baseball Reference.
