In a move that's sure to excite long-time Tekken fans around the globe, Bandai Namco confirmed veteran fighting character Nina Williams as part of the all-star roster in the upcoming "Tekken 7." The developer revealed the official trailer for the character online, allowing the players to take a peek at one of the more popular characters set to grace the fighting game soon.

The trailer showed Nina Williams in a wedding dress as "The Fatal Bride," plus a preview of her dialogue at the end of the match with the character saying, "What's done is done." Her bridal attire was the only costume shown in the trailer, so it is unclear if her usual look will be included in the upcoming "Tekken 7."

According to a report from Game Spot, the announcement from Bandai Namco also included confirmation of the game's participation in this year's EVO fighting game tournament.

Other compelling characters are also set to join Nina Williams in "Tekken 7," one of which is "Street Fighter" star Akuma. While the announcement piqued the interest of many players who are fans of both video games, he's the only crossover character the players are likely to see in the game according to Senior Game Designer Michael Murray in an interview with PlayStation Lifestyle at the end of 2015.

"Right now, Akuma is the only one we have planned," Murray said. "Harada [Game Producer Katsuhiro Harada] and I have always been against guest characters because it kinda throws off the Tekken world and setting. But Akuma fits the bill, and we wanted to tie him into the story so that the crossover is not some cheesy gimmick."

The game has already been launched in arcades across Japan in 2015, but it has been eight years since the previous edition of the franchise has launched, "Tekken 6" and the team is eager to entice both loyal fans and new players.

Kousuke Waki, Senior Game Designer and Visual Design Manager, told PlayStation Lifestyle that Bandai Namco wanted to ensure players will be able to spot their favorites instantly. He explained, "There were a few characters who were updated -- Lars, for example. But once we achieved that and we got the returning players on board, we wanted the 'Fated Retribution' expansion to introduce some of the smaller changes and costumes, and we're confident that people won't be thrown off because they've played [Tekken 7] already."

"Tekken 7" for PlayStation 4 is slated for release sometime in 2016. The release for other consoles and platforms has not yet been announced by the developer.
