With BioWare being its usual secretive self about the game developer's upcoming flagship title, "Mass Effect: Andromeda," the rumor mill has been working nonstop, with tidbits of information and several leaks about the game being revealed to an already excited fan base. As far as rumors go, however, most of them involve aspects of a game that seems to be developing into the very definition of epic.

Among the most prominent rumors thus far is that players of the upcoming title would be taking the role of a pathfinder, an untested, yet very much combat-trained explorer. During the game, the pathfinder would be leading an expedition with the goal of establishing a new home for the human race, according to The Express.

Of course, since it's a "Mass Effect" title, there would surely be worlds to explore, and when it comes to exploration, the new game is rumored to be king, featuring  solar systems that are open for the player to explore.

Since the game is allegedly dealing with the scale of planetary systems, the overall landscape of BioWare's newest title is said to be at least four times the size of "Mass Effect 3." With this said, players could expect a fully revamped, possibly more complex Mako system.

Of course, BioWare's own Cameron Lee recently revealed that he has played the opening of the game, and by doing so, had almost revealed the official name of the game's IP, reported Gaming Bolt.

Regarding the name, however, Lee assured fans that the company had "almost settled" on an official name for the new game. He further stated that the name alone took about six months of deliberation among the game's developers.

One thing that is most certain, however, is the game's release date. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen has confirmed that the highly-anticipated title is set to arrive alongside EA's other heavyweights, "Titanfall 2" and "Battlefield 5." According to the CFO, the latest installment in the "Mass Effect" saga would be released between October 2016 and March 2017.

"You should assume that a 'Battlefield' will come typically in the third quarter when we normally have it. We're not yet announcing when 'Titanfall' or 'Mass Effect Andromeda' will come, but you should assume that's in the back half of the year as well because the second quarter is so dominated by our sports titles," Jorgensen said.

With Battlefield being released in the third quarter, it is highly possible that "Mass Effect" would not wait for 2017 before it is released. After all, the third game that the EA CFO pertained to, "Titanfall 2," is a first-person shooter just like "Battlefield 5," and it would be quite unlikely for EA to release two FPS titles, consecutively.
