By now, just about every basketball fan has heard the comments from Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling. In a video provided by TMZ, his girlfriend V. Stiviano had posted pictures on instagram with Magic Johnson. Sterling argued in the video (he did not know he was being recorded) that he does not like her being with minorities in public and it bothers him that she is associated with black people.

We've had the entire weekend to digest, and social media has spoken. Obviously the majority believe Donald Sterling is a jerk and a racist, but we have a lot of different tweets to view. Some fans believe Sterling has freedom of speech and shouldn't be punished.

Mr. Hoffman is correct. Regardless of Sterling's comments, he does have freedom of speech, and he can't be removed from full ownership of the Clippers. However, Sterling will never be looked at with respect. Others believe that Sterling is not a terrible person, but he should be removed from ownership right away. Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell has voiced his opinion on the subject as well.

This is what will most likely happen. The Clippers are worth more $500 million, and the NBA will probably force Mr. Sterling to sell the team. The sooner the better because fans don't like this and it's bad publicity. Magic Johnson has tweeted his displeasure on twitter about the situation.

"and I will never go to a Clippers game again as long as Donald Sterling is the owner."

Says @MagicJohnson

No one knows for sure what NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will do because it's early and more information is still coming out. Clippers players can't avoid the constant media questions about the situation as well. The fans can boycott the game, though it would hurt the players as well.
