The lineup for the 2016 SXSW Film Festival has been revealed with a number of Latinos getting a chance to shine across a number of categories in one of the biggest events in the industry.

Narrative Film Competition

Latinos present in the Narrative Film Competition include "Hunter Gatherer," which features Dominican-American Alexis DeLaRosa in one of the main roles of the film. The actor has appeared in a number of TV Series including "Shameless," "CSI: Cyber," "Rosewood" and "Hawaii Five-0" among others.

"Transpecos" is also featuring in this category. The film tells the story of three officers that run a makeshift Border Patrol checkpoint. The film stars Gabriel Luna, who is known for his work on "Freeheld," "Bernie," "Matador," "Prison Break" and "Touch."

Finally "Miss Stevens" features Oscar Nunez, an actor known for his work on "The Office," "The Proposal," "The Italian Job" and "The 33." The film also stars YouTube celebrity Anthony Quintal (known as Lohanthony) who is of Ecuadorian descent.

SXGlobal

The international slate is laden with Latin American and Hispanic talent. From Spain, audiences will get a chance to see "Dead Slow Ahead," which was directed by Mauro Herce. The film maps the journey of a freighter across an ocean and shows how technology devours its workers.

Brazil's "KILL ME PLEASE" will also make an appearance. The film, directed by Anita Roca da Silveira, tells the story of someone who faces death and does all she can to make sure she's alive.

Colombia has been having a fantastic year in the world of cinema and the country will continue such success at SXSW with "UIO: Take me for a Ride." The film, which is a co-production with Ecuador and Mexico, examines the burgeoning relationship between two girls. The film was directed by Micaela Rueda.

Visions

In the visions slate, viewers will enjoy Brazil's "Jules and Dolores," a film directed by Caito Ortiz that follows the theft of the World Cup trophy that took place in Brazil back in 1983.

Narrative Spotlight

Michael Pena stars in "War on Everyone," the latest film by John Michael McDonagh. The film follows two corrupt cops in New Mexico who are on a mission to blackmail and frame every single criminal that comes in their way.
