Menstrual cramps is one of the most common problems ladies encounter every month, though some may not be that sever, others pass out and even throw up because of the intense pain. There are several remedies that can ease menstrual cramps, but who would have thought that sticking marijuana into your privates can actually ease the pain?

Another medical marijuana breakthrough made the headlines as vaginal marijuana suppositories became a hit in the United States as per Inquisitir. Foria relief capsules are stuffed with marijuana wherein ladies can use it as a tampon to ease their menstrual cramps.

As per Floria's official website, "Our intention is to share the powerful medicinal properties of this plant while utilising modern extraction techniques to standardise purity and potency, thereby ensuring a safe and accessible experience for all women."

The company also mentioned that the marijuana vaginal suppositories effectively relieve the pain by relaxing the muscles around the uterus, ovaries and the cervix. The key components that is said to ease the cramps are the two active compounds found in cannabinoids, THC and CBD.

Both compounds are being induced in the body via suppositories, wherein the cannabinoids can freely access the nerve endings and the immune system of the uterus and other muscle tissues found in the pelvic area.

Though the company's claims sounds promising, as per People, numerous healthcare professionals protested against using Foria products as it is not yet approved and evaluated by FDA.

Jen Gunter, a gynecologist wrote about the said virginal suppository in her blog wherein she cited some points as to why it is not advisable.

As per Gunter, "There is no study on THC and/or CBD for menstrual cramps or pelvic pain or endometriosis. If fact the few studies on the reproductive tract are on rat uteri. If that doesn't reassure you I don't know what will."

Gunter also mentioned that high doses of THC can be fetal as it can get the individual very high up to a point wherein the patient may need to go the hospital.

She then added, "If Foria Relief really does contain 60 mg of THC and absorption is between 15 and 60 minutes it's hard to believe the goal isn't to leave you paralyzed on the bed thinking menstrual cramps aren't so bad after all."

The California-based company is also responsible for coming up with a weed lubricant. Foria released their THC lubricant for woman back in 2014.
