An Independence, Mo. woman is crying foul after she claims that she was kicked out of Adventure Oasis Water Park Tuesday because her bathing suit was too small. The woman, Madelyn Sheaffer, says this is a clear cut case of discrimination.

The incident all started when two young girls who worked at the park approached Sheaffer and asked her to put on shorts because her bottoms were too small. Sheaffer resisted and demanded to speak to a manager, who eventually told her that she would have to leave the park altogether.

"I just felt like I was singled out," Sheaffer said. "I felt like it was both age and body discrimination and I felt like I could look around me and I could see a handful of other girls half my age, wearing the same size swimming suit and not being singled out and told to put on clothes or leave."

Once she was told that she would have to leave the park, Sheaffer, 43, became upset and asked that the police be called. Once they arrived, however, there was little they could do, as whoever is allowed to stay in the park is up to the discretion of the manager.

"Fifteen minutes later the police did arrive and said that while they did not agree, they had to do their job," she wrote. "'We can't actually say anything", they said as we walked outside, 'but I hope from the expressions on our face you can tell how we feel.' They were compassionate. They too, thought it was ridiculous."

Sheaffer says that she had recently lost over 100 pounds and as such, has a much more voluptuous body than most. Still, she believes that what she wore was perfectly acceptable summertime apparel.

"I am a 43-year-old woman who did not have the confidence, or the body, to put on a bikini until was [sic] 40 years old. I will not be discriminated against because I look too good in one."

You be the judge, was Sheaffer's outfit too small, or was she the unfortunate victim of age discrimination? Comment below and let us know what you think on the matter.
