Last Thursday, First Lady Michelle Obama appeared on the season finale of "Parks and Recreation." Needless to say, the First Lady is a pretty decent-and even hilarious-actress.

The NBC comedy, starring Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, has attracted a large following in recent years due to its light political humor and talented cast.

On Thursday's episode, Obama appears as herself and encourages Knope to accept a new position with the National Park Service in Chicago. "You know how I feel about Chicago," Obama states, as Knope nervously agrees that it's because she's from Chicago.

The interaction between the two is quite hilarious, similar to Knope's reaction when meeting Joe Biden in an earlier episode.

Obama's appearance on the show wasn't only for fun and games, though. In the scene where the two meet, the First Lady talks to Knope about her "Let's Move!" program that's integrated into national parks as a way to get kids outside, rock climbing, hiking, and being generally physically active.

Alongside Obama's appearance on the show, there were also other cameos such as Jeff Tweedy, Ginuwine, and the Decemberists. Even Li'l Sebastian-the beloved mini horse that's become Pawnee's little celebrity-was included in the season finale.

Most of the finale episode focused on wrapping up ongoing themes that have been reoccurring since the beginning of the show. Some of these themes included Leslie's career path (will she ever leave Pawnee?), the Unity concert, and Tom's business attempts. The show's musical stars Duke Silver and Mouse Rat even make an appearance.

Although this episode felt more like a series finale rather than just a season finale, "Parks and Recreation" has already been renewed for Season 7.

With so many previously on-going storylines ending in this episode, the show can start the next season with a blank slate, giving itself room for new storylines and surprising twists. The entire cast is scheduled to return next season, which is great news for the show's loyal fan base that loves the great chemistry between its actors.

And who knows, maybe we'll see more appearances by political characters like Michelle Obama next season.
