Ashley Theophane is confident that he can pull off an upset if he gets a shot against reigning World Boxing Association super lightweight champion Adrien Broner.

Theophane, who has racked up 39 victories against six defeats and one draw in his 13-year career, believes he has a secret weapon against Broner, referring to Nate Jones. The 35-year-old is confident that Jones will prepare a perfect fight plan to win against Broner in their proposed bout.

"There's Nate Jones who works with Floyd," Theophane said, via BoxingScene. "He worked with Broner for one of his fights so he's seen him first-hand. When he lost to Shawn Porter, he trained at our gym in Vegas and Nate was helping out so Nate knows his good points, his bad points."

The London, United Kingdom native also revealed that his promoter -- Floyd Mayweather Jr. -- also told him that he has all the tools to score a win against Broner but if it is up to him if he can utilize his skills and plan on fight night.

"We know what to do but it's just for me to do it on the day," Theophane added. "But Floyd has sparred with me and he knows I've got what it takes but it's all about doing it when the lights are bright."

Theophane is coming off a unanimous decision win against Steve Chambers in September, which came five months after escaping with split decision win against Mahonri Montes. The "Treasure" said that he was supposed to fight again in September but Mayweather and the "The Money Team" cancelled the fight to prepare for Broner.

Previous reports indicated that the Broner-Theophane match was supposed to be scheduled in January but no deal was reached. He said that they are still waiting for the final details of the bout, which could take place in March or April. It will be Broner's first defense of his WBA super lightweight title.

When asked how he is planning to deal with Broner's trash talks, Theophane said that he will not let his opponent's words get into his head and will focus on mastering their fight plan.

"He talks, that's how he promotes his fights but it won't faze me," Theophane said. "But he's saying the same things to me that he did to Shawn Porter and Marcos Maidana. I just have to stay focused and keep working on the game plan. With Adrien, you can never trust what he's going to say."
