The MacBook Air just became more appealing for Apple fans on a budget.

The newest version of the popular Apple computer was unveiled on the company's website Tuesday morning and it was listed for $100 less than before. The new version also comes with faster processors, which is good news for everyone, but fans might have been looking for a bit more change. According to several reports, many believed that a revamp of the MacBook Air was long overdue after the MacBook Pro's latest improvements.

More specifically, fans have especially been looking forward to the day when the MacBook Air would finally boast a retina screen. The MacBook Pro was already late in making the transition and now the MacBook Air is still trailing behind. According to reports on Tuesday morning, the newest version of the MacBook Air will still be without a retina screen. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why the price of the computer went down rather than up.

Meanwhile, the MacBook Pro has settled in nicely with the retina screens. Apple has made the retina screen a huge part of its marketing efforts behind the Pro and the company has already decided to phase out production of non-retina screen MacBook Pro computers. Considering that the MacBook Pro with retina screen costs $100 more than the same computer without a retina screen, it appears that Apple might be justifying the lack of retina screen on MacBook Pro by chopping $100 off the original price.

Do you think the new MacBook Air will be a success or will it start to fall behind? Can it still do well despite the lack of a retina screen? Feel free to chime into the comments section down below and let us know what you think.
