The Super Bowl is one of the most watched events on TV, and one that many companies and studios use to promote their products and films. This year's event once again showcased new trailers to many of the upcoming films of the year.

Many of the films had already been featured in trailers prior to the game, but the game offered an opportunity to release new footage and also reveal first trailers.

The biggest reveal was the premiere of the "Jason Bourne" trailer. The franchise had been under scrutiny, after Matt Damon was replaced by Jeremy Renner for "The Bourne Legacy" and that film obtained mixed reviews. Now Damon is back with Julia Stiles, and the first trailer is sure to pump up many longtime fans of the franchise. It will also help boost awareness, especially with such a packed summer slate.

The Super Bowl also gave Disney an opportunity to hype up their upcoming blockbusters "Captain America: Civil War" and "Jungle Book." The new trailer for "The Jungle Book" revealed more of the plotline and finally allowed audiences to hear the animals talk. It also showcased the film's visual splendor.

Meanwhile "Captain America" continued to showcase action-packed scenes. The newest clip also finally revealed the Black Panther and Ant-Man. Marvel continues to hide Spider-Man, but the revelations of these two characters definitely brings up the anticipation level.

Fox also made sure to release a new spot for "Deadpool," which has been getting rave reviews and is also looking to be a huge box office hit this upcoming weekend. The studio also took out a new trailer for "X-Men: Apcolaypse" and made sure to emphasize the war elements of the film. It also showcased some of the new characters, as well as Magneto and Mystique.

In case hype for the new "Cloverfield" was not already running high enough, Paramount secured a spot for the sequel, which featured an action packed preview showcasing Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman. The movie may look a bit different from the original, but it will likely have the same level of suspense.

Other trailers included "Independence Day 2: Resurgence," "The Secret Life of Pets" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2."

While it is never a sure bet that these ads will actually make a film a box office hit, studios use them to make sure that moviegoers are aware of their films. Additionally, the sooner they make their consumers aware of their products, the more hype and talk their films will receive.

One of the recurring themes from these ads was the use of hashtags. At the end of each trailer, the credits emphasized a hashtag so people could take to social media and start generating conversation.

It will be interesting to see how these ads affect the films' overall awareness and how many of these films are successful.
